I do not write this article to sell you anything, but I do include affiliate links. If you do choose to purchase Oils from one of these links I will get a small compensation. I purchase these oils myself and only want to share my knowledge and love of them! Thank you very much if you decide to try them by purchasing through my site. All Photos are mine unless otherwise stated.
Now on to the Oils!
The hype around essential oils has become bigger than ever. This is partially thanks to all the health activist out there and the ever present MLMs. Even though most people know about them, not enough people are actually bringing these little miracles into their lives.
For me that was because of MLMs and thinking they must be a money making scam.
I just don’t trust reviews from people who are getting paid to use a product!
So A ton of research later and a life changing jump in and I ended up with Plant Guru. They are a small family run business that takes Quality, Ethics, and Oils to heart.
I first noticed them due to their low prices and wanted to see if the I could trust a company that offered the lowest prices I had found for Organic, Cold Pressed, Quality Oils.
Their about page won me over right off the bat with these words..
Our business was born online offering quality essential oils at a fair price. No advertising, No marketing plan, No multi-level pyramid pricing…. From our experience if you stick to your principles, the business will take care of itself. These beliefs have allowed us to do great things.from the Plant Guru website
I am surprised the MLM (multi-level marketing) companies Young Living and Do-Terra are even around anymore after all the controversy and having proof that their oils have been diluted and adulterated with synthetic oils, chemicals, and fragrances. Not to mention their ethics are wildly misplaced. I mean just Google Young Living Controversy and Do-Terra complaints.
You will find no such articles with Plant Guru.
This is the kit I used to start my Essential Oil Journey and have made the same purchase along with others again and again.
What Are They Good For?
The best part about oils is they can be beneficial for anything you can think of. I started with them for beauty and health reasons and have implemented them into every part of my life. They have replaced all the harsh chemicals in my home and I use them for everything from cleaning, mood control, and skin care, to headaches and massages. I now use Plant Gurus Essential Oils for my entire families health, wellness, and happiness.
My favorite oils to use are:
The most commonly used oil, good for any and everything, even people with sensitivities. My favorite ways to use it are for aromatherapy for relaxation, sleep time for the kids, when I feel fancy and mix up my own fragrance, and also in my diy cleansing face oil and hair masks.
This is on my everyday use list for 2 main reasons. Mindset and Skin Care. Frankincense essential oil is a powerful astringent that can be used to help reduce acne blemishes, the appearance of large pores and wrinkles and is one of the best essential oils for skin tightening. It is also great for anxiety and depression and I love mixing it with Bergamot and Yling Ylang in my diffuser for a daily mental health boost.
Bergamot reduces nervous tension, anxiety, and stress and depression by releasing certain hormones like dopamine and seratonin. For skin care it is amazing at keeping the skin bright and youthful. Its fades scars, uneven skin tone, and acne. It is also one of my favorite smelling oils with a earthy citrusy scent.
Carrot Seed is also in my daily face care regime. This oil offers a high level of antioxidant support and promotes skin health and cell regeneration. Perfect for aging and mature skin, or environmentally stressed skin.
The first EO I ever used was Clove and I used it heavily diluted for my teething babies. It worked instantly and I was hooked on oils from then on out. (Do your research on safety and using oils with children and never apply undiluted oils!) I now use it for its pain relieving and anti inflammatory in my body scrubs and deep muscle rubs for my husband. I also replace my lemon household cleaner with clove in the fall due to its earthy spicy smell and strong antimicrobial properties.
I use Ylang Ylang all the time in my diffuser for all kinds of mental and physical benefits. It is known to promote relaxation, lower high blood pressure, and increase sexual desires… Need I say more?
I love the smell of Rosemary when I cook with the herb in the kitchen and I love it just as much in my diy beauty care. I use it in all my hair recipes by mixing it with water, carrier oils, and other EO’s like peppermint, sage, and cedar wood. It has amazing hair growth and thickening properties!
I use Lemon Essential Oil for Everything! Teeth whitener, dark spot eraser, household cleaner, air freshener, mood stimulator, and when I was pregnant it was my favorite nausea reliever!
Patchouli Dark is a very spiritual oil. If you have a hippy in your family I bet you have heard or know the distinct smell of Patchouli. Patchouli is believed to create a cohesive connection to the mind, body, and spirit, creating a centering affect. Thus relieving emotional anxiety, and enhancing sexual energy. I love it for its earthy smell that reminds me of my childhood, thanks to my moms hippy ways, and the uplifting mood it brings with the nostalgia.
Due to its strong anti-fungal, antimicrobial and bacteria killing properties I use tea tree for my heavy duty cleaning needs and breakouts. The smell is quite strong so I use it sparingly but always have it on hand.
Plant Guru also offers Synergy Blends that I use when I do not have the time to play alchemist and mix oils myself.
